Volunteer Dog Training & Behaviour Support

In addition to my regular dog training services, I also offer support for dogs in need. This includes dogs living in shelters, dogs being prepared for reintroduction into everyday life, and dogs currently placed in foster homes while they wait for their forever home.

The goal of these sessions is to help dogs build the skills and confidence they need to adapt to life in a home environment and improve their chances of finding their forever home.

These sessions are provided free of charge.

If you are caring for a shelter or foster dog and feel that training support could be helpful, please feel free to get in touch. I would be happy to discuss the situation and confirm whether this service applies.

Please note that if a dog is registered under your name in AMICUS, I am unfortunately unable to offer free training, as this would not be considered a shelter or foster placement.

Revised Mandatory Training Regulations for Canton Zurich

Starting June 1, 2025, the Canton of Zurich has introduced new mandatory dog training regulations that apply to all dog owners, regardless of their dog's breed or size. First time dog owners must complete a theoretical course with an exam. In addition, all dogs must go through six practical training lessons starting when they are at least six months old, that must be completed within a year of getting the dog or moving to Canton Zurich. We will soon offer a package for the new mandatory training, the package consists of  2 private and 4 group lessons or 6 private lessons.

About me

Hello!

I’m Suzanne, a certified dog trainer and biologist. I’m half Australian, half Dutch, and currently live in Zurich with my two dogs, Léa and Rosie.  I love and travelling and I often travel all around Europe with my dogs. Léa, the light coloured dog, is a Mini Goldendoodle, and Rosie, the brown and white dog, is a Mini Australian Labradoodle. In my spare time I love to be out in nature, do art and landscape and astro-photography.

Education and qualifications:

I completed my dog training, puppy development training and adult education certification at Kynologie Schweiz in 2023 and hold a bachelor's degree in Biology. I'm also pursuing a master's degree at the University of Edinburgh.

My philosophy:

I believe training should suit both the dog and the owner. Understanding both is key to finding an effective approach, as training is never one-size-fits-all. Finding a method that suits both is essential for consistency, which is key to successful dog training. My goal is to find a method that works for both of you, ensuring a positive and enjoyable training experience that suits your lifestyle while achieving consistency and fast results
